The story

When people ask where Láska by Kerol began, they usually expect me to talk about sewing. The truth is...it began long before I ever made my first bag, at my grandparents' cottage.

When I think about the safest place I've ever known, I always return to my grandparents' cottage.

To a garden full of bees and grasshoppers. To making little dresses for our dolls. To old lace curtains becoming princess gowns. To feeding the neighbour's horse apples.

We didn't have much. But we always had time to make things, to notice things, to be together.

Looking back, I realise my grandma thought me something much bigger than sewing. She taught me that making something with your hands can simply be another way of spending time with someone you love.

The product

Every piece is handmade by me at home using carefully chosen fabrics sourced in Europe and the UK.

I make them in small batches because I like knowing exactly what leaves my hands.

They're designed to be used often, folded into a suitcase, taken to the market or hung by the front door. Washed. Repaired. Loved.

My own bags have been with me for years. They're still lightweight, practical and just as beautiful as the day I made them.

That makes me incredibly happy.

Invitation

I don't expect everyone to need something I've made.

Sometimes the most sustainable choice is using what you already have. Sometimes it's buying second-hand. But if one day you find yourself looking for something new... I hope you find something here that becomes part of your own ordinary days.

Thank you for spending a little time in my corner of the internet.

With love,

Karolína
